Hi, I'm

John Nimmo

SOTHEBY'S INTERNATIONAL REALTY
Marco Island, Fort Myers Beach, Naples, Estero, and Bonita Springs
Hello, I’m John Nimmo, Senior Global Real Estate Advisor with Premier Sotheby’s International Realty. I specialize in luxury homes and condominiums across Southwest Florida, serving Naples, Marco Island, Bonita Springs, Estero, Fort Myers, and Cape Coral, with a focus on beachfront, waterfront, and lifestyle communities, as well as vacation and investment properties.

About Me

Before entering real estate, I served 33 years in the United States Air Force and retired as a Master Sergeant. As a combat aerial photojournalist, my career took me around the world on combat deployments and humanitarian missions, often working alongside multinational and special operations forces. Service has always been a central part of who I am, and that background continues to shape the way I work today with discipline, discretion, attention to detail, and the ability to earn trust.

In real estate, I combine local market expertise, strong communication, and the reach of the Sotheby’s International Realty network. I also bring a creative advantage through my background in advertising & marketing, photography, visual presentation, social media and AI, which helps me position properties thoughtfully and represent clients at a high level.

Working with veterans and military families is especially meaningful to me. I hold several military-focused real estate designations and understand firsthand the care, timing, and trust involved when service members and their families are making a move. I also serve as Board Chair of the Southwest Florida Veterans Business Council.

For referral partners, my goal is simple: to take excellent care of your client, communicate clearly throughout the process, and reflect well on the trust you placed in me.

client feedback

See what they're saying

"It was difficult for me because I was in Kentucky and knew no one. He helped me find a lender and inspector, and they in turn helped me find an honest insurance agent. John went far beyond the call of duty and I am extremely grateful for all he did in a short period of time."

Frances J. - Past Client

"John took us carefully, patiently and thoughtfully through the buying experience from beginning to end. Since we are Canadians, we completed the whole process online. His recommendations were always selfless, not putting his own interests first by merely trying to get a quick sale. We feel like we hit the jackpot finding John as our agent and simply cannot imagine doing this kind of transaction without him."

Kent L. - Past Client

"I shared an email John had written with a friend who just happens to be a Sotheby's realtor in New Jersey. My friend said, 'Fantastic email. John did everything right. In fact, more than right. He went above and beyond.' I couldn't agree more."

My Referral Promise

In a resort market like Southwest Florida, referrals are an important part of my business. I know the trust that comes with that, and I take seriously the responsibility to care for every referred client at a very high level. When an agent sends a client my way, I understand I am representing more than just myself. I am representing the confidence you placed in me and the relationship you have built with that client. I work hard to honor that trust through strong communication, attention to detail, and a high level of service from start to finish. I welcome the opportunity to connect and get to know one another. Referrals work best when there is trust on both sides, and I value the chance to build that with you so that when the time comes, the handoff feels natural and comfortable.

My Communication Style

Clear, timely communication is a big part of how I work. People should know where things stand, what comes next, and when something needs their attention. Whether by email, text, or phone, my goal is to keep communication organized, proactive, and easy to follow. Responsiveness matters in this business, and so does staying ahead of the details. Both clients and referring agents can expect regular updates throughout the process, along with direct answers when questions come up. A smooth transaction usually comes down to strong communication, steady follow-through, and making sure no one is left wondering what is happening. When a referral comes in, the first priority is understanding the client’s goals and making sure they feel informed, comfortable, and well cared for from the beginning. The same is true for the referring agent. You should feel confident that your client is being looked after and that you are being kept in the loop at the right times.
