My path to real estate wasn't a straight line, and honestly, that's what makes me good at it.
I grew up in Washington State, earned my teaching degree in Tennessee, and then did something a little wild: I moved to Germany without knowing anyone. I spent 13 years in Heidelberg, teaching and building a life, supporting military families, getting married, traveling through Turkey, Belgium, Switzerland, Finland, and beyond, and raising five kids alongside my husband Josh. When Josh's military contracting work led to a relocation opportunity, I told him I would never leave Europe. Unless, of course, it was for Hawaii.
Fourteen years ago, Hawaii became home. I settled into island life, homeschooled my daughter, got involved in beach cleanups and community volunteering, and embraced the Aloha spirit in every way I could. When my Realtor kept telling me I should get my license, I resisted for years. Eventually I tried it, and everything clicked. My background in early childhood education, my years working with military families, and my own experience navigating life in a new place all came together in a way I hadn't expected.
I entered real estate with one intention: to truly help people. I started small and let the business grow from there. My specialty is working with military families, VA buyers, relocation clients, investors, and first-time buyers navigating one of the most unique and complex real estate markets in the country. Hawaii is not a simple place to buy or sell; but I know this island, I know the process, and I know how to guide people through it with clarity and confidence.
"I met Kina at a national realtor conference and was impressed from day one. She has consistently followed up, provided encouragement, and built the kind of relationship that makes me confident referring clients to her from across the country. She is known and respected far beyond Hawaii -- and she sends excellent cookies, which is genuinely a bonus."
"From beginning to end, Kina's professionalism and commitment were exemplary. Her market knowledge and proactive approach transformed what could have been a daunting process into a positive, successful experience. We are incredibly grateful for her responsiveness, her dedication to finding the right property, and her expert guidance throughout the entire transaction."
"What truly set Kina apart was her communication. She kept us informed every step of the way, explained things clearly, and never left us guessing -- which made a complex process feel manageable and far less stressful. Her attention to detail, professionalism, and genuine care for her clients show in everything she does."
When you send me a client, I bring the same care to them that I'd want someone to bring to my own family. Whether they're PCSing to Oahu, buying their first home, or selling while stationed overseas, I've either lived that situation personally or helped dozens of clients through it. I'll ensure your referral is in capable hands, and that the process feels as smooth and stress-free as this market allows.
I keep clients informed at every stage, and I make sure referring agents are never left wondering. My teaching background shaped how I communicate: I believe in education over pressure, clarity over jargon, and making sure people actually understand what's happening and why. Multiple reviews specifically mention being kept well-informed throughout the process. That's intentional, not accidental.
